About
In her artistic endevour she is interested in identities of places and people. She examines unidentified cultural boundaries in the world of „global village”. Dominika Sergiej is exploring themes dealing with the most important human values and besides this she poses questions referring to the coexistence of people belonging to various denominations, religions, races, ages and identities. From the formal perspective she is interested in composition and form of her oeuvre. She practises: installations, photography, collage and painting.
She is a graduate of English philology and art education at Mary Curie University of Lublin. Her final diploma project was photography done under the supervision of professor Irena Nawrot-Trzcińska in 2007. She studied visual arts at Art and Communication Department at Rennes University 2 in France in the academic year 2003-2004 as a part of her scholarship in the Erasmus programme as well as at the Painting Department in Students League of New York in the United States under the supervision of Mary Beth Mc Kenzie in 2006. She graduated from art history (docotral programme) at KUL in 2018. In 2020 she graduated from a postgraduate programme in painting at the Fine Arts Academy of Jan Matejko in Cracow.
She is a member of various artistic associations such as: Associazione Culturale Ulisse in Siena, Association for Art History in Great Britain, The Union of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP-Warsaw department) and International Association of Art (I.A.A.) at UNESCO, France.
